Meet Lindsay Juarez, LMT

Teaching wasn't new to me — but teaching massage was its own kind of challenge.

My path into education started the way most things in this industry do: by showing up and figuring it out. Three years after completing my massage therapy training — an 18-month program where I earned my Associate's in Occupational Studies — I applied for an instructor position. I didn't have a formal teaching background. What I had was curiosity, a deep respect for adult learners, and a willingness to go all the way in.

My employer gave me the room to do exactly that. I spent months immersed in adult education theory — lesson planning, curriculum design, classroom management, learning styles. Somewhere in the middle of all of it, I found my thing: the moment something finally clicks for a student. That look. That's the whole job.

I teach with clarity, inclusivity, and a lot of compassion. I believe every question is just an opportunity to explain something a different way. Adult learners need repetition, real-world context, and a space where it's safe to not know something yet. That's what I try to build in every room I teach in — and it's the foundation Mindful Massage Academy was built on.

We emphasize review, peer collaboration, and genuine support — during your program and long after. My inbox doesn't have an expiration date for former students.

Teaching massage is nuanced work. It's not just about technique — it's about helping you arrive in your own body so you can help others do the same. I don't take lightly the trust it takes to walk through that door. I'm grateful for every student who does.

"I looked at several massage therapy programs in Oklahoma City before choosing MMA. The hybrid format and Lindsay's approach to teaching made the difference. I felt supported from orientation to graduation."

FAQs

1 / Do I need any prior experience to apply?

No prior massage or healthcare experience is required. What matters most is a genuine interest in the work and a readiness to show up — for your clients and for yourself.

2 / How does the hybrid format actually work?

You'll complete didactic coursework online at your own pace, then join us in person on Mondays and Fridays (9am–2pm) for hands-on practice and technique labs. Weekend intensives happen once a month and give you extended time in the clinic setting.

3 / What does the program prepare me for?

You'll be fully prepared to sit for the MBLEx licensing exam and apply for your Oklahoma massage therapy license. You'll also leave with the business foundations to build a sustainable practice — not just pass a test.

4 / Is financial assistance available?

We offer accessible payment plans at 12, 18, and 24 months. Reach out to discuss what works for your situation — we'd rather figure it out with you than have cost be the reason you don't start.

5 / When does the next cohort begin?

Our next two cohort starts are August 17th, 2026

and January 20th, 2027
